“My Work And Research Is Focused On The Changing Landscape, Environmental Awareness And The More Recent Effects Of Globalization. As An Artist, I Use Nontraditional Materials To Create Provisional Drawings, Etchings, Paintings, And Digitally Printed Works That Respond To The Effects Of Accelerated Entropy.”


Isabel Gouveia was born in Brazil and lives and works in Lake Worth, FL. She graduated as an Industrial Designer from the Arts Foundation Armando Alvares Penteado in São Paulo and MFA from Florida Atlantic University. Gouveia was recently awarded a grant from the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County’s new fellowship program. Recent exhibitions include: “In Between Processes,” Gruber Art Gallery, Surfing Florida Museum (solo), “3rd Biennial Artists of the Art Salon,” Armory Art Center, West Palm Beach, “Polyopia,” curated by Giannina Dowin, Arts Warehouse, Delray Beach, “Biennial 2019,” Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, Lake Worth, “Ripped From the Headlines,” curated by Elle Schorr, FatVillage, Fort Lauderdale, “Packaged,” Manifest Gallery, Cincinnati, Ohio, and “Waste to Wonder,” curated by Cynthia Maronet, Resource Depot, West Palm Beach.
