“Rewriting” is Mexico-born artist, Karla Kantorovich latest body of work. She draws inspiration from the world around her, especially nature. The textures, hues, and nuances she finds in the environment are incorporated into her work. Her handmade paper series are used as vehicles to unite unlikely elements -old and new, natural and man-made- to create one cohesive piece representative of unity and our binding humanity. Much like paper, reality can be rewritten and reassembled; it is fluid and ever-changing, a reminder of our ephemeral nature and the human ability to heal, mend, and alter reality.
