Michiko Kurisu grew up on a ranch in Oregon and currently lives and works in South Florida. She earned a BFA from Brown University. She is an artist and freelance photographer. The artist is committed to the idea of substantial, provocative art in public spaces. She has a permanent light-based installation in Veterans Park in Delray Beach.
