EVENT EMCEE
Jacey Birch is Local 10's Animal Advocate reporter and investigator and constantly fights for pet safety and animal protection. She is the only Animal Advocate journalist in the nation who exclusively covers the animal beat that is so important in helping our most vulnerable with no voices. She also anchors the weekend evening shows after retiring from the morning shift which she held at Local 10 for more than 2 decades. Born and raised in Miami, Jacey joined Local 10 News in January 2004 and has spent more than 20 years reporting and anchoring, covering weather, traffic, the Heat, and more hurricanes than she can count. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in political science and Bachelor of Science in journalism at the University of Florida. Jacey lives in Fort Lauderdale with her son, Jupiter, and their three rescue pups, Jagger, Radar and newly adopted PeeWee. She is a passionate animal lover who serves on numerous boards, like the Humane Society of Broward County PAWS Board, Zoo Miami Board, Pelican Harbor Seabird Station Board, and more. Jacey has changed local laws in Miami-Dade and Broward to protect guard dogs as a result of her Animal Advocate investigations. She hopes the younger generation will follow in her footsteps in protecting our innocent animals and make a difference in saving species before they are lost forever.
