The Art of Storytelling

A special reading and storytelling performance byauthor and story-teller
Marie Ketsia Theodore-Pharel

This May's Free Arts! Family Day will be held on the second Sunday, May 14, from noon to 4 pm. We hope you come join us to commemorate Haitian Heritage Month and to create crafts inspired by storytelling and artists of Haitian descent.

Marie Ketsia Theodore-Pharel (prefers to be called Ketsia) was born in Port-au-Prince Haiti, currently lives in South Florida with her two youngest children and husband.
Marie earned a Bachelor’s from Tufts University and a Masters in English from University of Massachusetts, Boston. She was a recipient of the 2017 and 2019 State of Florida Folklife apprenticeship award for storytelling.
