Somewhere I Belong is a transformative art installation showcasing the convergence of avatars from the Metaverse, Snapchat, and The Sims 4 within a mesmerizing, multi-dimensional AI-generated landscape. The installation becomes an expansive altar, inviting viewers to step into a larger-than-life, techno-spiritual experience. This manifestation serves as both a celebration and a challenge, urging society to embrace a wider spectrum of body types and identities while prompting contemplation on the interconnectedness of virtual and real worlds.

AdrienneRose Gionta is a multidisciplinary artist with a practice that spans diverse mediums, navigating the intersection of algorithms and extended reality (XR). Gionta’s engagement with web-based practices, artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), video, sound, photography, installation, painting, and drawing forms the basis for a critical analysis of identity, programmed biases, and cultural assumptions related to fatness, beauty standards, embodiment, pleasure, and fulfillment, both in "real" and online spaces. Beyond the technical aspects, Gionta embarks on a profound exploration of her familial roots, paying homage to the remarkable women in her ancestry. Her art becomes a vehicle for offering new and healing outcomes that were previously unavailable to these women during their lifetimes.
Brooklyn-born, Florida-raised artist AdrienneRose Gionta is an Artist in Residence at Oolite Arts in Miami. Solo exhibitions include: The Future is Fat Female, Far Gallery, FATVillage Metaverse; Never Before Seen, Locust Projects, Miami; and Everything’s Coming Up AdrienneRoses, The Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum, Miami. Gionta has received numerous awards including the South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship (SFCC) for Visual and Media Artists, the Artists Support Grant, and the Betty Laird Perry Award. Selected reviews include The Fat Studies Journal of Body Weight and Society, ARTnews, Artsy.net, The Wall Street Journal, and artdaily.org.
Jennifer Inacio is Associate Curator at Pérez Art Museum Miami. She recently curated Marcela Cantuária's first US solo exhibition, The South American Dream (2023). Selected curated exhibitions include Simone Leigh: Trophallaxis (2022); Felipe Mujica: The Swaying Motions on the Bank of the River Falls (2021); MY BODY, MY RULES (2020); Barbara Wagner & Benjamin de Burca: Estás vendo coisas (2019); Pedro Neves Marques: A Mordida (2018); the museum's first Augmented Reality exhibition Felice Grodin: Invasive Species (2017–2022); among others. In addition, as an ambassador of The55Project—an organization with the mission to promote Brazilian visual artists and cultural projects in the United States—she has curated Gustavo Prado: The Undercurrent (2020); Nádia Taquary—Oríkì: Bowing to the Head (2019); and What I really want to tell you… (2019). Inacio holds a Master's in Contemporary Art Theory from Goldsmiths, University of London (2014).
