The Art and Culture Center/Hollywood is thrilled to announce that Open Dialogues: Queer Allies was named Best Doc Short Winner at the 2023 Orlando Film Festival. Produced by the Center and directed by Freddy Rodriguez, Queer Allies was selected from among 25 documentary film shorts that were screened Oct. 27-Nov. 2 to festival goers in downtown Orlando.
Queer Allies was represented at the festival by Freddy Rodriguez, who took part in discussions with audiences and filmmakers following screenings on Oct. 27 and Oct. 30.
Queer Allies is also an Official Selection at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and will screen on Nov. 9, beginning at 3 p.m., at the Gateway Cinema as part of a Filmed-in-Broward block. This film, the third in the Center’s Open Dialogues series, will also be shown on Nov. 8-9 in Sarasota as part of the CineWorld Film Festival.
